Cinémathèque française “Images du cinéma français” exhibition at Lausanne’s Palais de Rumine
1946
Birth of the Lausanne ciné-club, under the impetus of Henri Langlois (Cinémathèque française)
1948
In order to save the Basel archives after they were deprived of subsidies, “Cinémathèque suisse” is established as a nonprofit in Lausanne (November 3), under the direction of Claude Emery and president Henri Gonthier. Immediately becomes a member of the International Federation of Film Archives (FIAF)
1949
First address : rue Beau-Séjour 10
The archives are transferred from Basel to Lausanne with two lorries
