The travelling exhibition “Le Train du Cinéma” (The Film Train) was created in 1988 under the patronage of the National Committee of the European Year of Cinema and Television. In Switzerland, activities included the film train, the day of cinema and the production of additional copies of previously unreleased Swiss and European films.
The exhibition comprised three SBB train cars showcasing Swiss and European cinematic productions from the past few decades. The tour stopped at around 50 different Swiss train stations, starting on 8 April in Ostermundigen (Bern) and ending on 31 October in Lausanne.
